Flex Tape

TT Flex Tape is a high-performance, thermoplastic, joint tape for expansion joints and cracks having elastomeric behaviour. It allows irregular and high movement in more than one direction while maintaining a high-quality seal. It has long life acrylic adhesive with flexible & superior adhesion. It has high initial tack, quick stick and even can be tear able by hand. It is resistant to water, cement-water, seawater, domestic sewage, bitumen, light fuel oil, diesel, alkali, acid, ethanol, methanol and petrol.

•    Sealing joints in hydraulic works, such as channels, basins, drains, pipe-works.
•    Waterproofing expansion joints in flat covering layers.
KEY FEATURES
•    Resistant to mold, humidity and high temperatures.
•    Works on compound curves and flat surfaces.
•    Available in metalized or black versions.
•    No tools needed, easy to seal & apply.
•    Suitable for both dry and damp concrete surfaces.
•    Performs well within a wide range of temperatures.
•    Weather / water / root / mild chemical resistant.

  1. Remove all loose gravel, dirt, oil, grease and foreign matter by jetbefore application.
  2. Choose the most suitable width of TT Flex Tape. Unroll the tape until the desired length is reahed.
  3. Apply TT Bitumen Bond on both side of the joint, 20 mm on each side for 100 mm width tape at the rcate of 0.7 kg / m (1 mm thickness). For 200 mm, tape adhesive should be coated 50 mm on each side at the rate of 1.2 kg / m. Place the tape over the adhesive layer in a way such that 10 mm adhesive remained exposed. Press the tape slightly to ensure good adhesion.
  4. Apply 2nd coat of adhesive at the rate mentioned above considering the width and thickness over the tape in such a way that tape upper surface is coated with adhesive for 10 mm and rest adhesive is put on the exposed adhesive surface coated first.
  5. Gap between two coats should be minimum 3 hrs. and maximum 24 hrs.

when it is raining, freezing or snowing.

  • It is essential, as with all pressure-sensitive tapes, Do not applying that the surface to which the tape is applied be clean, dry, and free of grease or oil.
  • Bond strength is dependent upon the amount of adhesive-to-surface contact developed.
  • Note that different pressure, time and temperature on different (film / rigid) surface achieves different performance
