Protect a property from rising damp with an extremely durable damp proof course (DPC). TT DPC membranes prevent dampness in the wall structure along with the associated issues with mould and damage to internal decoration. A damp proof course (DPC) is a physical barrier that prevents water from moving up a wall. Our DPC Membranes are specially formulated so that they may provide excellent resistance to radon gases and have high puncture tear
resistance. The coating dries to for m a black flexible protective film. The finished film forms a tough barrier to vapor transmission.
AREA OF USAGE
KEY BENEFITS
SURFACE PREPARATION
The surface shall be cleaned thoroughly of all contaminants like dust, traces of curing compound, oil and grease. All surface imperfections and protrusions are to be removed and repaired. Structurally unsound and friable concrete must be removed and repaired with a suitable repair mortar or PMM.
PRIMING
Primer is always recommended prior to coating as it not only penetrates into the concrete pores and seals the substrate. It also acts as an adhesion promoter for
further coatings. It is advised to use TT Bitumen Primer. The primer may be applied by a brush, roller or airless spray. Allow the primer to dry before any further coats are applied. However, if the primer after application is left open for more than 24 hours after it becomes dry, clean the surface of any settled dust and apply a fresh coat of the primer.
Note : The application temperature should be between 5°C to 55°C. Application procedures may vary slightly depending upon site conditions.
DPC Membranes are best installed in new construction. Our Membrane can be installed within, brick, stone and concrete walls. They are suitable for use as a vertical DPC as well as in horrizontal application. They are not suitable above lintels or spanning across cavity walls. The DPC membrane must be installed 150mm. above the ground level. Peel the release film stick the membrane properly on the surface.
