AREAS OF USAGE / UTILITY:
• It is ideal for use in conditions where a certain degree of expansions, contractions and vibrations are expected.
• It is used for stopping leaks through cracks of concrete roofs, walls, porous masonry, and through gaps around J-Bolts of reinforced cement sheets, G.1 corrugated sheets.
• It is used as sealants for sealing metal fabrications, plate joints of wagons, coach, and buses in Railway, Bus, and Automotive industry.
• It is used as caulking agent for filling crevices and vertical joints between steel plates, folded section, wood joints, precast concrete claddings, and blocks, underground tanks etc.
• It is used as flashing compound to flash projections and terminations preventing entrance of water or moisture.
• It is also used as adhesive for bonding rain guards over rubber trees.

APPLICATION OF MATERIAL:
SURFACE PREPRATION
The surface to be treated should be thoroughly cleaned to remove loose dust, foreign particles, oil, and other contaminants. Loose rivets shall be made tight and corroded portion shall be thoroughly cleaned to remove adhered rust. Avoid application of TT PLAST in damp or moist joints.
APPLICATION
Locate the cracks and then widen them to a V section, about 25 mm deep. Brush out the loose particles from the crack and dust it clean. The surface to be treated should be primed using modified bituminous primer TT PRIMER @ 4 to 6 m2/ltr., uniformly wetting and covering the entire surface to promote adhesion of TT PLAST. Apply TT PLAST using trowel or putty knife by guiding the material in to the joints / gaps / crevices and pressing it against the surface ensuring good contact with the joint surface. Avoid air entrapment and strike off excess material.
To improve the neatness of finished application, use of masking tape on both face edges of joints / cracks / crevices is recommended. Masking tape shall be removed immediately after tooling the material. TT PLAST must be applied at all points, which are likely to leak particularly at peripheries, overlaps and small holes and gaps.
To fix “J” Hooks for Asbestos or other roofing sheets, top of the holding bolts should be covered with TORCH TAR PLAST and a limpet washer fixed as cover.
